Dear Friends,

Great public schools are a top priority in South Orange and Maplewood. Our residents are keenly aware of the impact of high quality education on the well-being of the community, and we realize that allocations for public education simply do not go far enough to ensure it.

Since 1987, the Achieve Foundation has enjoyed the generous support of thousands of local families and businesses, who, together, have raised approximately $300,000 annually to promote excellence through innovative programs that benefit every student and educator in our school district. Achieve has supported hundreds of classroom grants, thousands of hours of free tutoring for students in need, fellowships for teachers, major facilities improvements and more.

With a personal stake in the community, our board is more committed than ever to exploring new ways to make a measurable difference in our children’s education. Currently, we are devoting attention to STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, the arts and math). The educators in our schools are helping us to see the potential that experience-based learning, aided by new technology holds for students of all learning styles.

We take the loyal support that Achieve receives, even during tough economic times, as a resounding vote of confidence from our community that inspires us to reach to greater heights. Thank you for your interest in the Achieve Foundation. We welcome your participation as a donor or as a new volunteer. There are so many ways that you can help. Please contact Deborah Prinz, our executive director, if you’d like to get involved, or if you want further information about the Achieve Foundation or any of its programs.

Sincerely yours,

Sarah Iozzio and Robin Peacock
