This privacy policy, effective since May 15, 2007, was reviewed and approved on November 20, 2014.

The Achieve Foundation of South Orange & Maplewood (“Achieve” or “Organization”) is committed to raising meaningful funds to promote innovation and excellence in education. Our mission is raise funds to enhance the educational experience for all South Orange/Maplewood District students and staff. We collect donors’ information in connection with our fundraising to support our valuable programs.

1.Types and Uses of Information Collected:

Donor Contact Information and Donation Records

Achieve retains donors’ contact information and donation records (such as date of donation, amount of donation, program to which donated, if applicable, and donation history). This may include personally identifiably information such as name, address or email address which visitors to our website (www.AchieveFoundation.org) voluntarily provide to Achieve.

In general, the Achieve Foundation uses the information donors provide for the purpose for which it was intended. For example, we may use the information to contact the donor in the future to solicit additional donations or to ask for other support in connection with our work. Achieve also may acknowledge donors by name and/or description of donation in some of its documents, such as its Annual Report, newsletters, event programs, and on its website. See below for information on opting out of donor acknowledgements.

Access to donor data is restricted to the Donations Manager, the Treasurer and the Executive Director, except for occasional review by other members of the Board of Trustees for the specific purposes of fundraising, outreach and legal compliance. Achieve does not publish, post, distribute, share or sell any donor contact information or donor records to any individuals or businesses outside of the Organization.

Donor Credit Card Information

Achieve also collects credit card information for purposes of each credit card transaction made directly with Achieve, but it does not retain this information in its records. Access to donors’ credit card information is restricted solely to the Donations Manager, the Executive Director and the Treasurer. While we will not sell your information to third parties, we may share donor information with trusted third party vendors for the sole purpose of processing your donation.

Website information

In addition to the personally identifiable information mentioned above, Achieve may also collect non-personally identifiable information through its website, such as how many people visit the web site, the pages they visit, from the route taken to reach the website, how long they stay, their IP address, and the type of browser they use while visiting. We do not use cookies or web beacons on our web site.

None of this information is used to identify donors personally. Instead, Achieve typically uses the non-personally identifiable information to better understand how visitors use our web site, to assess its effectiveness for fundraising and outreach or for system administration.

2. Donor Acknowledgement and Opt-Out Rights

Donors may notify Achieve if they do not want their names and/or donations to be acknowledged publicly in any way, or if they would like to be removed from Achieve’s mailing list. All of Achieve’s electronic communications include an opt-out option and donation solicitations offer the option to be removed from the public donor acknowledgement list.

3. Website Security

The security of donor information is very important to us. Achieve follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the information submitted to us via the website, both during transmission and once we receive it. Please keep in mind, however, that the Internet is not a 100% secure medium. Therefore, although we exercise all reasonable efforts to protect information, it is possible for someone to defeat our security measures.

4. Website Access by Children

The Achieve website is designed for those 18 years of age and older. Achieve will not knowingly collect information via the website from anyone under the age of 13. If the Organization becomes aware of a visitor under the age of 13 providing information, it will purge its records of all information provided by that visitor.
